Horizon Fitness EX56 Elliptical Trainer Review

The Horizon EX56 Elliptical is Horizon’s entry level elliptical trainer. The EX56 comes with the quality and durability fitness enthusiasts have come to expect from Horizon Fitness. Key features include a low price of $599, smooth electronically controlled magnetic resistance, and a unique frame design with a low step up height.

Stride Length
Most low end treadmills are designed with a short stride length, generally 16” and in the worst cases, less. Short stride lengths inhibit natural body movement and can make workouts painful. Horizon Fitness builds every single elliptical trainer with stride lengths of 18” or more to provide users with natural, fluid movement during workouts.

Workout Programs
If you have trouble staying focused or have no idea what to do when you put together your Horizon Elliptical, the built in workout programs are a godsend! Choose from up to 8 different preset fitness programs designed to target specific fitness goals including manual, intervals, rolling, weight loss, reverse train, random, and 2 programmable profiles for customized training.

Step Up Height
Horizon Fitness Ellipticals are designed with as low step up height as possible. Users only need to lift their feet 3” to take a position on the Horizon EX56 Elliptical.

Resistance Levels
8 resistance levels enable users to choose from light to strenuous workout levels to begin a training routine and progress to intense fitness regimens.

Resistance Type
Another standard feature on all Horizon Fitness ellipticals is electronic controlled magnetic resistance. Magnetic resistance is smooth and allows for a more natural feel, especially during long, rigorous workout sessions. Electronic resistance controls gives users greater control over their workout regimens.

Display Console
The Horizon EX56 comes with a large LCD console display that tracks time, distance, and heart rate to help users track progress and results.

Heart Rate Monitoring
Heart rate monitoring comes standard. Use built in heart rate monitoring pulse grips to reach a target heart rate and track how hard your body is working to accommodate your workout.

Assembly
You’re going to see this same line of text for every Horizon Elliptical on this site, set up is a little difficult. If you’re not mechanically inclined we highly suggest finding a friend or family member who is to help you set up your Horizon Elliptical. Professional inside set up and delivery is available from most retailers if you prefer to have someone who absolutely knows what they’re doing set up your Horizon Elliptical.
